The M.A.T. degree in art education is designed for initial teacher certification in art education (K-12) and requires a minimum of 30 semester hours of graduate course work, 6 to 15 hours in professional education, and 15 to 24 hours in the teaching content area.  Prerequisite courses may be required.

Each candidate must successfully complete a comprehensive examination.
